With a simple trick, you can convert almost any PowerPoint document to word document. Here are the exact steps you should follow.
When it comes to presentations of any sort or rich resumes, there is nothing that even comes close to the MS Office PowerPoint. After giving a presentation, there might be times when you need to give printed handouts. This especially true for organized seminars, boot camps, etc. Though you can print PPTs directly from the PowerPoint itself, you can also make them editable word documents, customize it as needed with the rich formatting tools, and then print the handouts. This is especially useful to add watermarks, additional contact info, and other things.
To create an editable word document, you first need to convert PowerPoint to Word. As long as the PowerPoint PPT has no complicated animations, it is really simple to convert the PPT to Word.
Thankfully, the PowerPoint software itself has options to convert PowerPoint to Word document. Let me show the exact steps on how to do it.
To convert PowerPoint document to an editable Word document, you need to use the Create Handouts feature in the PowerPoint itself. The option is available in the Export tab. Follow the below steps to know how to do it.
As soon as you click the button, the Word application will open automatically and imports the PPT document according to the settings you chose earlier. Depending on how many slides you have and how complicated they are, it can take a few seconds to complete the import process. Once completed, you can start editing it just like any other Word document.
If you want to automatically update the imported document as soon as you update the PPT document, choose the “Paste link” option in step 7. Since you are only pasting a link to the PPT slide, the Word document will be auto-updated as soon as you update the PowerPoint presentation.
Depending on the PPT document and how complex it is, you might have to choose a different layout option in step 6. If the current layout is not to your liking, play with other layout styles and see how it works for you.
